Latino communities are reshaping the American economy, and nothing illustrates that better than the way our families are turning homeownership, entrepreneurship, and disciplined investing into engines for generational wealth. As 2026 NAHREP President, I see this momentum every day — and I believe our job is to turn today’s success into lasting prosperity that our kids and grandkids can rely on.

Who NAHREP serves
The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) is a purpose‑driven organization of real estate and financial services professionals committed to advancing sustainable homeownership and wealth creation in Latino communities. We bring together agents, lenders, builders, investors, and community leaders who understand that every closing table is also a wealth‑building moment.
NAHREP’s research and advocacy, through resources like the State of Hispanic Homeownership Report, document how Latinos continue to drive overall homeownership growth in the United States, even amid affordability and credit challenges. Today, millions of Hispanic households own their homes, and Latinos represent a large share of first‑time buyers, underscoring how central our community is to the future of the housing market.
The Hispanic Wealth Project mission
The Hispanic Wealth Project (HWP), NAHREP’s strategic wealth‑building initiative, was created to narrow the economic gap between Hispanic households and the rest of the country by focusing on three core pillars: homeownership, small business development, and diversified investments. Its mission is to help Latino families move from short‑term financial wins to long‑term stability, resilience, and opportunity.
Through data‑driven goals and national programming, the Hispanic Wealth Project sets measurable targets for increasing Latino wealth and then builds the education, coaching, and partnerships required to reach them. The emphasis is not just on buying a home or starting a business, but on understanding credit, risk, tax strategy, and legacy planning so wealth can be preserved and grown across generations.
Pathways to generational wealth
For Latino communities, homeownership remains the most reliable pathway to wealth creation, especially when families buy earlier in life and hold property through market cycles. Many Hispanic buyers are young first‑time purchasers, which means every mortgage payment is an investment horizon spanning decades.
But generational wealth requires more than a single asset class. The Hispanic Wealth Project encourages families to pair homeownership with diversified portfolios, retirement accounts, and strategic business ownership so that equity, cash flow, and savings work together. This includes education around securities investing, real estate investments beyond the primary residence, and disciplined approaches to debt management and tax planning.
High Net Worth Boot Camp
To serve Latinos who are already successful and ready for the next step, the Hispanic Wealth Project has launched a High Net Worth Boot Camp — a flagship program designed for high‑income professionals, business owners, and established investors committed to building multi‑generational wealth. Over a focused curriculum, participants dive into advanced topics such as securities investing, real estate portfolios, buying and selling businesses, asset protection, and tax optimization strategies.
What makes this Boot Camp distinctive is its cultural lens: the content is tailored to the realities of Latino wealth creators, including multigenerational households, family‑owned enterprises, and community‑based networks. Participants are encouraged to think not only about personal balance sheets but about how to transfer knowledge and assets to the next generation in ways that honor family values and protect long‑term opportunity.
AVANCE Global: The event engine
All this work comes to life on the AVANCE Global platform, NAHREP’s national event engine where business strategy and cultura intersect. NAHREP at AVANCE Global brings together real estate and financial services professionals, wealth‑building experts, and community leaders to share market insights, build partnerships, and celebrate Latino prosperity.
In 2026, NAHREP at AVANCE Global will take place Sept. 14-16 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, creating a three‑day environment dedicated to homeownership, wealth, and leadership in the Latino community. The conference offers main‑stage keynotes, breakout sessions, and networking experiences designed to support everyone from first‑time buyer advocates to high net worth investors and serves as a key platform for milestones such as the unveiling of Hispanic wealth and homeownership data.
Aligning with Hispanic Heritage Month
NAHREP and the Hispanic Wealth Project share a vision where every Latino family has the tools, information, and support needed to turn first‑time homeownership into enduring prosperity.
As we look toward Hispanic Heritage Month, our message is simple: Latinos are participating in the economy and building it, and we deserve systems that recognize and support our role. By combining culturally attuned education, high‑impact programs like the High Net Worth Boot Camp, and convenings such as AVANCE Global, NAHREP is working to ensure that the story of Hispanic homeownership evolves into a broader narrative of generational wealth for millions of families across the country.
